Express Entry

Canada attracts many potential immigrants each year. In order to better manage the reception of applications for permanent residence and to facilitate their processing, an electronic selection system called Express Entry has been in place since January 2015. This process makes it possible to select the best candidates for certain economic immigration programs. If you dream of settling permanently in Canada, Express Entry is definitely the way to go!

Express Entry is therefore not an immigration program but rather a fully electronic online system that allows IRCC to select candidates who apply for permanent residence in Canada. The Express Entry system is reserved for 3 categories of economic immigrants:

  • The Federal Skilled Worker Category (FSW),
  • The Skilled Trades Worker (MSW) category,
  • The Canadian Experience Class. (CEC)

Express Entry also handles some Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applications.

In the Express Entry system, candidates receive points for each established criterion, as well as a score allowing them to be placed in a bank of candidates called a "pool", which Canadian employers can access to recruit workers and qualified employees. jobs around the world. In this world ranking system. (SCG), during the round of regular invitations, the highest ranked candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (IAP) and will be able to apply for permanent residence (PR).

It should be noted from the outset that Express Entry concerns candidates who wish to settle in all Canadian provinces, except Quebec which has its own specific immigration rules.

Express Entry Features

  • The request is made only via the Express Entry portal
  • Application for permanent residence by invitation only
  • The application for permanent residence can only be submitted in the category to which one is invited to apply
  • The candidate must submit their application for permanent residence within 90 days of the IPA.
  • The Express Entry profile is valid for 12 months.
  • Express Entry allows dual intent for temporary residents applying for permanent residence
