Express Entry: the round of 20 July 2022

On 20 July 2022, Canada invited 1,750 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence. Express Entry is one of the main economic immigration routes Canada offers immigrants.

This year Canada set itself the target of welcoming 55,900 immigrants through Express Entry, and by 2024 the target will rise to 111,500.

The candidates who were invited had a minimum score of 542 in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). No particular program was targeted for this round, as was the case for the previous one on 6 July 2022. That means every candidate in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW) had the potential to be invited.

The CRS requirement for the new round is 15 points lower than that of the previous all-program round on 6 July, where the minimum score was 577. Canada also issued 250 more invitations in this round than in the previous one of 1,500 invitations.
