Exemption from additional tuition fees by program of study and region

Following the announcement by the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI), a limited number of exemptions from additional tuition fees will be granted, as of September 2023, to international students enrolled et selected by a university or college located outside the territory of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal. Thanks to this exemption, international students selected by an educational institution on the list below will pay the same tuition fees as Quebec students

Programs of study covered by this exemption

1. Information technology;
2. Engineering;
3. Health and social services;
4. Education;
5. Educational childcare services.

Eligibility conditions

To be eligible, you must meet the following conditions:

1. Be an international student enrolled at an eligible educational institution;
2. Be enrolled full time in a French-language program of study determined by the educational institution and tied to one of the fields identified as priorities by the Government of Quebec;
3. Your places of study (campus) and of residence must be in Quebec and located outside the territory of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal during your studies.
