Provincial Nominee rounds show very high scores because a provincial nomination adds 600 points to a candidate’s score.

Reading the table

A cut-off score is not a pass mark

Three things to keep in mind before comparing your score.

The cut-off moves

It depends on how many invitations went out that day and on the make-up of the pool. A low cut-off one month guarantees nothing the next: it shows a trend, not a threshold.

Categories change everything

A category-based round — health, trades, transport, French — sometimes invites at 380 where the general round demands more than 500. You still have to meet the category’s criteria.

The provinces’ 600 points

A provincial nomination adds 600 points to the score. That is why PNP rounds show cut-offs above 700: these are not extraordinary candidates.

First assessment — at no charge

Your score can be worked on. Let us see what there is to go after.

Language, education, experience, spouse, provincial nomination: several levers move a CRS score. We go through them with you, at no charge, and tell you which ones are worth the effort.
