As the \u201csponsor\u201d of the sponsored person, you undertake to provide for the basic needs of the \u201cmain applicant\u201d and to support him financially for a number of years, determined according to the quality of the member of your family.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Who can sponsor?<\/strong><\/p><p>For you to be recognized as a guarantor, you must:<\/p><ul><li>Be\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cliquezjustice.ca\/vos-droits\/demander-la-citoyennete-canadienne\">canadian citizen<\/a> Where <em>permanent resident <\/em>from Canada<\/li><li>Be at least 18 years old<\/li><li>Be able to support the sponsored person for several years.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Who can&#039;t sponsor?<\/strong><\/p><p>You cannot sponsor a family member in some cases. For example, when you received a\u00a0<strong>removal order from Canada <\/strong>or have not paid child support.<\/p><p><strong>Who can you sponsor?<\/strong><\/p><p>When you meet the minimum guarantor requirements, you can, subject to certain conditions, sponsor:<\/p><ul><li>your husband, <strong>de facto spouse<\/strong> Where\u00a0<strong>marital partner<\/strong><\/li><li>Your dependent children<\/li><li>Your parents and grandparents<\/li><li>Your brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, grandsons or granddaughters (if they are\u00a0<strong>orphans)<\/strong><\/li><li>Exceptionally, other members of your family.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Remarks<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Adopted children: The sponsorship procedures are different for the adoption of a child. Do not hesitate to contact us<\/li><li>Parents or grandparents: The process is time-limited and begins each year with an expression of interest.
